Does the woad make my butt look big?
The very best canvases this week have been waist/hip/buttock/thigh … that gently sloping graceful stretch that most women curse and loathe. Very few women have any sun damage across that terrain, and the skin is smooth, hairless: brushstrokes lay down vivid green and the stains come out lovely blue. There’s enough expanse to make big complex patterns …. Its a comfortable work...
No Owie
One girl fussed that she was allergic to everything but she wanted blue. I asked her what had given her problems. Shelly henna paste gives her a nasty rash. Acrylic based body paint last year gave her a rash. Perfumes, cosmetics, all sorts of things send her running for benedryl. I tried one dot of Ancient Blue near her inside elbow. Into the sea, and twice
Well, the pool anyway …. I did a big belly piece on an adolescent … she takes stain easily. It was a lovely piece, and I cringed when she said she’d gone swimming. But …. the stain wasn’t diminished at all! If it had been henna, it would have been wrecked. I went back and did blue again into the pattern I did yesterday, to see what second day application would do....
